Khugnu-Tarna national park covers 46,990 hectares of land locating in territory of Gurvanbulag soum, Rashaant soum of Bulgan province and Burd soum of Uvurkhangai soum. This area was taken under state protection in 1997. Its highest point is Tsetserleg which is 1968.8 m high. It is home to some animals including deer, gazelle, wild pig, fox, wolf, rabbit, wild cat, badger and skunk. There are over 100 medicine plants. Therefore, numerous birds including golden eagle, hawk, falcon, upland buzzard, common kestrel, merlin, little owl and jay habitat there.
